Stratford-on-Avon Golf Club
As we return to golf following the unprecedented year we have all had dealing with Coronavirus and the impact it has had on all our lives, we look forward to an uninterrupted year of golf, getting back to the game we all love.
As Captain of Stratford Golf Club for 2021/22 I warmly welcome both visitors and societies to enjoy our very special course: one of the oldest and most revered clubs in Warwickshire; and to enjoy our enviable club hospitality.
Stratford on Avon golf Club was founded in 1894 and moved to its present location, off Tiddington Road, in 1925. Only a few years later our Captain was the inspirational Samuel Ryder, inaugurator of the famous Ryder Cup matches. Held every two years between the top professional golfers of America and of the UK and Europe, this has now become one of the most iconic team prizes in sport.
We have a challenging yet very picturesque par 72 course, respected and admired by both low and high handicap golfers alike. The fairways are lined by a variety of mature ornamental trees and our sandy, easy draining subsoil enables play virtually all year round.
Our Club Manager, Dan Hacker, and his team are available to assist with all / any enquiries. The Professional, Julian Dodsworth is ably assisted by his two PGA qualified teaching assistants Fred Jewsbury and trainee Kieran Weatherhead. The course is managed by Head Greenkeeper Chris Bromley and his team. You can be assured of first class fare from our caterer Alasdair McDonald and there is always a friendly welcome from our Bar Manager Shirley Hughes and her team.
