Stratford-on-Avon Golf Club
As Captain of Stratford-on-Avon Golf Club. I warmly welcome both visitors and societies to enjoy our very special course. I consider it a great honour to be Club Captain for the 2025-26 season. Stratford on-Avon is one of the oldest and most revered clubs in Warwickshire. We believe Stratford on-Avon Golf Club is a very special place with rich history and long established traditions, however our club is also a progressive, open and friendly environment and a great place to play golf in a relaxed atmosphere, on great playing surfaces. I sincerely hope you enjoy our course and enviable club hospitality.
Our Golf Club was founded in 1894 and moved to its present location, off Tiddington Road, in 1925. Only a few years later our Captain was the inspirational 'Samuel Ryder', inaugurator of the famous Ryder Cup matches, held every two years between the top professional golfers of America and of the UK and Europe, this has now become one of the most iconic team prizes in sport.
The course is managed by our Head Greenkeeper Chris Bromley and his team and we have a challenging yet very picturesque par 72 course, respected and admired by both low and high handicap golfers alike. The fairways are lined by a variety of mature ornamental trees and our sandy, easy draining subsoil enables play virtually all year round.
Our General Manager, Craig Brown, and his team are available to assist with all / any enquiries and our Professional is Julian Dodsworth who is ably assisted by his PGA qualified teaching assistant Neil Taylor.
You can always be assured of first-class fare from Fayreways caterers and there is always a friendly welcome from Shirley Hughes and her Bar team.
